The FlashPoint platform is a complete system design, supporting any host PCI Express (PCIe), Serial-ATA (SATA), or USB interface to high-performance NAND Flash memory. Offering advanced error correction, optional data integrity and hardware accelerators to tune your Hardware with the software and processor requirements. The platform uses a unique design configuration engine that enables the system to be tuned for optimal performance with differentiating features for a range of products, including PC cache modules, solid state drives (SSDs), server applications and a host of others.

Architecture
The FlashPoint platform leverages Denali's silicon-proven Databahn™ IP technology in an advanced hardware architecture, built from the ground up for high performance, high quality, and performance. An advanced configuration infrastructure automates the process for tuning and verifying the design for application-specific performance and speeds the overall deployment time.
- Performance
Many areas of a controller design, such as the hardware, application, and traffic patterns, directly impact the achievable flash performance. FlashPoint's performance is typically within 10-15% of the maximum theoretical read and write performance of the flash array. - Configurability
Suited with an advanced verification and architecture solution, many options can be configured automatically. Additionally, customized hardware accelerators, different CPU architectures, and interfaces (such as PCIe, SATA, USB and others) are supported. - Ease of Integration
Having a hierarchical design approach makes it easier to integrate new functions and any add-on features in either an existing design methodology, or FPGA or SoC technology. Our refined timing and design scripts allow designers to improve the integration and reduce design time.
Protocol Support
Interfaces for today's computing are becoming the deciding performance hinge points for Non Volatile Memory(NVM) arrays. With most interfaces and protocols targeting spinning media, sometimes a merged solution is necessary. Supporting USB 3, PCIe Gen 1,2,3, and SATA interfaces requires different addressing and or command-based protocols. By means of Denali’s longstanding verification of these standards, we have developed a solution to satisfy most interface requirements. Denali has developed NVMHCI internally for advanced and high performance single thread applications, SATA or PCIe and other interfaces. Our technology and experience allows us to provide HW acceleration features and lets you focus on your product differentiation.
Solid State Drives
Solid-State Drives (SSDs) offer significant benefits, such as increased performance and reduced power, for a growing range of markets including: mobile computing, low-cost PCs, and blade servers. In general, SSDs offer significant performance gains for best-case scenarios such as sustained sequential Reads/Writes. Unfortunately, most existing SSD products suffer from poor performance for random write data, which is often the case in real-world data traffic. FlashPoint's integrated NAND controller is a state-of-the-art subsystem designed for high-performance, and includes all necessary functionality for robust SSD applications, including: hardware-based ECC, encryption, compression, and more. The FlashPoint platform provides a complete hardware solution for PCI Express, SATA, or USB-based SSD products.
