NAND Flash Controllers - Choices. Choices? Choices!

Today, NAND controllers are an important gateway to optimizing performance and endurance of the raw NAND array. As we move to finer line geometries and x3 and x4 cells, the problems will increase in complexity. Today, users have three basic choices for their NAND controller: many NAND makers offer complete 'Managed NAND' solutions in a single package, there is a huge market for low-cost standalone controllers, and there are also semi- or full-custom solutions for the most demanding NAND applications.
