SSDs: Navigating Into the Mainstream

Performance rates of SSDs are rapidly improving while their cost continues to drop. This is presenting an even better value proposition for OEMs and consumers than had been foreseen in 2007. In this presentation, we will examine new SSD performance data in both the PC and server markets. For servers, we will highlight not only the performance gains, but also help attendees to understand the substantial improvements to be found in reduced power consumption for the data center. Samsung will stress the inherent advantages in a performance-optimized enterprise environment. On the notebook side, Samsung will discuss the reasons behind recent trends in decreasing prices, improving performance and rising densities, bringing SSDs much closer to mass market adoption.
