The number of interfaces available in Flash has become a daunting task, between card based and solder down solutions. This impacts not only the markets but the compatibility of these solutions in the firmware stack as well as the electrical interfaces. There are also new standards that are touting very high bandwidth capabilities for the future, but where will these new standards fit? Will they replace what exists today or will new application be born. Flash and it's new found bandwidth and new complexities are very challenging. The near future is very interesting, and more creative solutions will be required to continue to grow.

In this track we will go over the plethora of solutions, the impacts and how firmware has to co-exist with hardware. Additionally we will look at several different flash solutions and how they are served in today's systems. We also we get into managed solutions which have positives and negative influences on the system hardware and firmware architecture.
