Understanding JEDEC:
Structure, Accomplishments and Current Focuses

This presentation will take a close look at the most widely recognized standards body in the semiconductor industry. Involving 300 companies and more than 3000 members, JEDEC develops standards through the efforts of more than 50 committees and subcommittees which cumulatively meet hundreds of times a year. Mr. Quddus, JEDEC's chairman of the board, will discuss how standardization works and why JEDEC has evolved into the enormous volunteer organization that it is. He will also spotlight some of the major standards efforts in which JEDEC is immersed, including DDR3, DDR4, eMMC cards, UFS cards, GDDR5 and low power DDR2.
