As the semiconductor market and value-chain continues its fast pace of evolution and revolution, more and more capability is consolidated into larger SOCs. Memory for the most part stays discrete. Capacity skyrockets as costs per bit plummet. Content is now king, and system performance is tightly coupled to the ability to optimally access memory. What was once a small set of simple interfaces is now a diverse set of complexity and capability.
