"Today Plus Five" - What's Possible and What's Probable for NAND Flash Prices, Products and Performance in 2012/2013

NAND Flash has come onto the scene very quickly over the past five years, and shows no signs of slowing down in its increases in device density, price reductions, market penetration, and take up in new and exciting products. Investment in technology and manufacturing plants by NAND vendors has totaled more than $15B in the past 12 months, about matching the NAND revenues achieved in 2007. New technologies and traditional 'die shrinks' promise to reduce costs much further, but also bring with them the challenges of further device performance degradation. If we roll the clock forward five years, what can we see for 2012 or 2013, in terms of NAND's performance, NAND market fragmentation driven by applications and silicon technologies? What can we expect in terms of consolidation around a small set of device standards, to ease the design problem for users and NAND controller makers? A panel of industry luminaries will provide their expert insights to these questions and more.
