The Next Generation of Mobile Memory

Mobile handset and handheld devices are some of the most challenging platforms to design. They are often times constrained on many fronts – power consumption, performance, form factor, and cost. With the ever increasing demand for multimedia usage models on ever smaller devices, these mobile devices need to perform comparably to traditional platforms such as PCs, set top boxes, and gaming consoles. This presentation will focus on how multimedia usage models translate to the future needs of mobile memory and the architectures and designs needed to meet the ever increasing requirements for bandwidth, power savings, and cost saving.
