Dr. Tae-Sung Jung is Senior Vice President of Memory Product Planning and Application Engineering for Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Korea. Dr. Jung is responsible for the definition and standardization of next-generation memory products, as well as enabling strategies, application engineering and software development for Samsung's broad line of leading-edge and future memory including DRAM, Flash and mobile memory solutions.

Dr. Jung joined Samsung in 1983 as an SRAM design engineer, involved in several SRAM projects from 16K to 1Mb until 1989. While at Samsung, he earned a Master's Degree from KAIST, Korea in 1985. In 1994, Dr. Jung earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, while leading the development of Samsung's 128-Mb multilevel NAND flash memory design team, and various nonvolatile memory projects including a DRAM interface NAND Flash, NOR Flash and EPROM. Later, until he took the current position, he led Samsung's 64Mb, 128Mb and 256Mb DDR-SDRAM design teams while working on future DRAM architecture and interface technologies.

Dr. Jung also served on the ISSCC (International Solid State Circuit Conference) technical memory subcommittee from 1996 to 2002.
