In 1976, Sato Katsuyuki joined the Device Development Center of Hitachi Ltd. Since then, he has worked on DRAM circuit design and product development. In 2000, the DRAM divisions of both Hitachi and NEC companies were combined to establish the venture DRAM company, Elpida Memory Inc., at which time he moved to Elpida Memory Inc. from Hitachi.
In 2005, he joined Infineon Technologies Japan to establish a consumer business in Japan. In 2006, Infineon Technologies curved out its memory business to Qimonda, at which time he was transferred to Qimonda.
Currently, he is a chairman of Memory Subcommittee of ISSCC, and a member of Asia Solid State Circuit Conference. He is a senior member of IEEE.
