Roland Barth studied Electrical Engineering at the Technische University of Karlsruhe in Germany, and later earned his PhD thesis in the field of High Temperature Superconductors at the RWTH-Aachen, also in Germany. Dr. Barth joined Siemens Semiconductor in 1995 as part of the DRAM design group. Since then he held various positions in the program management of DRAM development prior to heading the technical marketing activities for the memory products group of Infineon Technologies in North America from 2000-2003. In 2004, Dr. Roland Barth took over the Product Definition department for memory products within the Infineon Technologies AG, which he still holds at Qimonda AG since the split-off from Infineon 2006. In this position, he holds responsibility for concept and system engineering activities on established and emerging memory products, industry standardization as well as technical documentation.
