略歴

作井康司（さくい　こうじ）:

1979年に慶応義塾大学 工学部 計測工学専攻を卒業し、1981年に同大学院修士課程を卒業。同年東京芝浦電気（現東芝）に入社し、総合研究所 IC研究所に勤務し、DRAM回路設計に従事。その後、1989年に高密度NAND型フラッシュメモリの研究開発に移る。1991年～1993年、米国スタンフォード大学電気工学科の客員研究員として、multi-chip moduleおよび BiCMOS 技術の研究を行う。その後、先端メモリ開発センターにおいて、NAND、NOR、FeRAMの不揮発性メモリを中心とした各種デバイスの回路設計、デバイス設計開発の先端メモリデバイス開発部長を務め、2000年10月より、NANDカード開発および技術営業を担当し、2002年4月より、SOC研究開発センター　フラッシュメモリ設計開発部の部長を務め、90nm、70nm、55nmのNANDフラッシュメモリ設計を統括した。2004年12月にSONY株式会社に移り、半導体事業グループ　システムLSI事業本部　メモリシステム部　統括部長を務め、高速フラッシュシステムの開発を統括した。2007年4月インテル株式会社に移り、NAND事業部リサーチサイエンティストとして、将来のNANDおよび不揮発性メモリの研究に従事している。 この間、1995年にインパクトイオン化現象とその微細化デバイスへの応用に関する研究で東北大学より工学博士の学位を取得。

　なお、1997年よりフラッシュの国際会議、IEEE NVSMW (Non-Volatile Semiconductor Memory Workshop)の論文委員および2000年度のIEEE ITC（International Test Conference）の論文委員を務める。1997年NVSMWの招待講演、2000年IEDMおよび2001年ISSCCパネリスト、2004年ISSCC Memory Forum講師、その他各種講演会の講師、専門書および雑誌の著者を務める。

また、平成９年度関東地方発明表彰 神奈川県知事賞受賞。平成１６年度関東地方発明表彰　特許奨励賞受賞。米国登録特許76件。IEEE米国電気学会誌論文他21件。

Koji Sakui was born in Tokyo, Japan, on April 29, 1956. He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees, both in instrumental engineering, from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1979 and 1981, respectively, and a ph.D. degree from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1995.

In 1981, he joined the Toshiba Research and Development Center, Toshiba Corporation, Kawasaki, Japan, where he was engaged in the circuit design of DRAM's. Since 1990 he has been engaged in the development of high density NAND Flash memories. From 1991 through 1993, he was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, Stanford, CA, doing research in the field of multi-chip module and BiCMOS technologies. He managed Flash Memory Design Department of SoC R & D Center to develop 90nm, 70nm, and 55nm NAND Flash memory design. He moved to Sony Corporation in December, 2004, and served as a general manager of Memory System Department of System LSI Business Division, Semiconductor Business Group, SONY Corporation. In April, 2007, he has moved to NAND Products Group, Intel Corporation, where he is a research scientist.

Dr. Sakui is a member of the IEEE Electron Device Society, and served a memory coordinator for ITC (International Test Conference) in 2001 and has been serving a technical program committee for NVSMW (Non-Volatile Semiconductor Memory Workshop) since 1998. He holds 76 US patents granted, and published over 21 technical papers. He received Kanagawa Governor Patent Award in 1997 and Kanto District Patent Award in 2005.
